Vera Philipsen graduated with a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine, Baltimore MD in May 2008. While in Baltimore, Vera had the opportunity to train at the Curtis National Hand Center, where her interest in Hand Therapy grew.

In 2009 Vera joined the MOPT team, where she founded a comprehensive Hand Therapy program, which she continues to develop and grow.  Vera focuses her continuing post graduate education on furthering her interest in upper extremity, spine and lower extremity manual therapy, as well as progressing her knowledge of complex hand injury treatment. In 2012, Vera completed a 9 month Certification of Manual Therapy through the The Ola Grimsby Institute.

She enjoys the challenge of treating patients with a variety of injuries, whether work or sports related, the result of trauma, or degenerative conditions.  Providing mentorship in hand and manual therapy to physical therapy students as a Clinical Instructor is also important to Vera. She has had the honor to guest lecture on hand therapy topics for the San Diego State Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
